CosyAI is a coalition of small and medium-sized tech companies, cooperatives, researchers, developers, designers, and activists committed to building AI that benefits all by design, not just by promise.

Cosy stands for cooperating sincerely. Our goal is to develop a framework grounded in our common human capacity for trust, cooperation, and community.

An integrated strategy

We aim to enable cooperative ownership of AI throughout the whole tech stack:

Building cooperatively owned, distributed data and compute infrastructure.
Developing specialized AI models and tools.
Sharing the value created by AI through a contributor basic income system.

We build on more than a decade of insights from the Platform Co-op movement to develop a solid organizational framework that combines value alignment with effective governance.

Taking a pragmatic approach on technology, we work with decentralized and open source tech wherever it serves our common purpose.
