CosyAI is a coalition of small and medium-sized tech companies, cooperatives, developers, researchers, and activists who are committed to building AI that benefits all by design, not just by promise.
Cosy stands for cooperating sincerely. If we want truly beneficial AI, it needs to be grounded in our common human capacity for cooperation, trust, and community.
To kick this off, we are currently creating a cooperative of at least 100 founding members.

We aim to enable cooperative ownership of AI throughout the whole tech stack:
Building cooperatively owned, distributed data and compute infrastructure.
Developing specialized AI models, agentic frameworks, and tools.
Sharing the value created by AI through a contributor basic income system.
Rather than trying to build this from scratch, we connect and support existing solutions from our members and the wider open-source movement.
To make sure that our cooperative remains fully aligned with its purpose, we draw on more than a decade of insights from the Platform Co-op movement to implement a specific organizational framework that combines value alignment with effective governance.
